Payday Purchases #2: Urban Decay & Clinique

Hey there,

I'm back with another instalment of Payday Purchases, where I share some sneaky things I've bought on payday. Read on to see what I bought this week...

Clinique:

I went into Clinique to have a facial, which was complimentary when I bought something a while back. The facial was so lovely, so of course I wanted to pick up something that the consultant had used on me. I ended up going with the Clarifying Lotion, which is a toner that you use after cleansing, as when the girl used this on me, my skin just felt so fresh and clean!
There is also an offer on at the moment in Arnotts where you buy two Clinique products and get a bag full of goodies for free. I obviously wanted the bag, so I picked up their newest mascara, the lash power, flutter-to-full mascara, which has 3 settings so you can choose how full your lashes are.

In the little bag came; deep comfort hand and cuticle cream, take the day off makeup remover, liquid facial soap, chubby lash mascara, quickliner for eyes, clinique smart custom-repair serum, lipstick in Matte Magenta and an eyeshadow quad in 02 Jenna's Picks.

Urban Decay:

I picked up the Naked Skin Concealer as I was in the market for a new concealer and had heard nothing but good things about this one. I was colour matched to Light Warm and when the girl in the shop tried it on me, it felt so weightless but still gave me plenty of coverage. I can tell it's going to be a firm fave. The girl also put me on the waiting list for the new Naked Basics palette (eeeep), and for a demo evening in early September to see their new colour correctors, so you might be seeing another Payday Purchases next week ;).

So that's what I've picked up this week, let me know what you've picked up recently!

Barely There Nails // Barry M 'Sunkissed'

Hey there,

I have been loving the barely there nail look lately, it just looks so elegant and pretty. Yesterday I picked up this gorgeous shade from Barry M's Coconut Infusions range, it's called 'Sunkissed' and I love it!

I have tried another shade from the same range and they apply so beautifully, and look just like shellac. The formula lasts for 4 or 5 days on me without chipping, and that's without a topcoat!

What's your take on barely there nails? Love them or leave them?

My Updated Skincare Routine

Hey there,

I posted a video about my skincare favourites a while ago, and my routine has actually changed a little bit since then, so I thought I would update you all on here.

Everyday Faves

Lush Tea Tree Toner: This has become such a staple in my routine, I've already gone through two small bottles of it, and I'm onto the larger bottle! I use this every night after removing my makeup, just to ensure that any remaining makeup is gone, and the tea tree also keeps my skin clear. I simply spray it on a cotton pad and wipe it over my face and neck before applying my moisturisers.

No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream:  I have been using this since Christmas and since running out of the Night cream, I have been using the day cream both day and night. The moisturiser sinks into my skin quickly, so I don't feel greasy, buy my skin is still nicely hydrated. I will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out.

Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream: I actually used to use this in a rollerball version, but I recently picked up a Clinique skincare set in Arnotts as I needed a new eye cream and had a voucher to spend. The cream is almost gel-like in consistency and helps to keep my under-eye area soft and hydrated. It is perfect for under makeup too, and helps my concealer apply like a dream.

Occasional Skincare Bits

Lush Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser: This is a recent addition to my skincare routine. It was recommended to me by the lovely girl in Lush when I went in to repurchase my toner. It is full of lavender and almond which helps to gently exfoliate the skin while helping to nourish it too. You pop a little bit in the palm of your hand and mix it to a paste with some water then massage in and wash off with warm water. I then use my toner and moisturisers. This stuff leaves my skin so soft. I use it every two days or so to keep my skin looking fresh.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster: I bought this on my flight home from Greece and I have been loving it! I use it about once a week. You mix a drop or two with your moisturiser and use as normal. The next morning you are left with a healthy glow to the skin that fades naturally over a few days, so this is great when you feel a little bit pale and want to top up your glow. LOVE!

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Rapid Clear Treatment: I use this if any pesky spots or blemishes pop up. I just dot this on at night and in the morning they're usually less red and angry looking. It's also great if you can feel one coming up almost as a preventative measure!

And there you have it, my updated skincare routine. I hope you enjoyed taking a look into my everyday routine, let me know if you have any skincare faves or if you use any of these!

Chanel A/W16 Beauty // Coppery Reds

Hi there,

When I saw the first pictures of the Chanel A/W16 beauty drop, my jaw quite literally, well, dropped. Full of reds and coppery undertones, the collection was not my usual style, but extremely beautiful all the same, and I decided to go check it out in stores. It did not disappoint. I knew the reds would make my green/grey eyes pop and when the sales assistant tried the eyeliner in 'Eros' on me, I just knew I wouldn't be leaving empty handed. Two minutes later, and I walked out of Arnotts with a bag full of new beauty booty and a slightly lighter purse. Here's what I got.

Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Candeur et Experience:

Wow. What drew me to this was the fact that it is Chanel's first all-matte eyeshadow palette. The colour payoff is fantastic with very little fallout, and the shadows blend like a dream. The red looks a little scary in the pan but is actually quite wearable, and as it is a slightly darker red, works flawlessly with the browns in the palette to make a coppery red smoky eye that could take you from day to night. LOVE.

Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Eros:

This is also a little scary when you first see it. Upon seeing it for the first time, my sister thought it was a lipliner not an eyeliner! Added into the tightline and waterline, the liner makes my eyes really stand out, without making my eyes look red, always a possibility with red and pink toned eye products. The product also stays in place for about 5-6 hours, which is pretty impressive for an eyeliner!

I've filmed a little tutorial using the palette for the first time, so if you want to see me try it out, check out my new video!

Here's the finished look, let me know what you think!

The Best Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies

<div id="NDA1MTE2NQ=="><a href="https://activate.bloglovin.com/profile/4051165"><img src="https://activate.bloglovin.com/common/images/badge1.png" width="200" height="92"/></a></div>

Hello there,

It's no secret that I'm a fan of baking, vegan baking at that, and as such, I've been on the hunt for a good chocolate chip cookie recipe for a while now. I think I've finally found it.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup melted coconut oil
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup almond milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups spelt/ gluten free flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp bread soda/ baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 bar Lindt 70% dark chocolate (or more if you fancy!) broken into chunks

Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Melt the coconut oil if you haven't already done so, and add it to the brown sugar. Mix well.

Add in the almond milk, maple syrup and vanilla extract.

Add in the rest of the ingredients until a dough forms.

Roll into balls and place on a lined tin, space them out a bit as they spread out!

Bake for 12 minutes until golden brown and allow to cool.

^^^ The money shot!

Enjoy!

Payday Purchases Haul #1

Hello,

So you may or may not know that I recently got a part-time job in a clothing shop in Dublin, so as you can imagine, I am certainly enjoying having a few extra dollah bills coming my way each week. As such, I have decided to make it somewhat of a series on my blog, to show you how I have chosen to spend some of my wages, a Payday Purchases Haul, if you will. If you have a catchier name, please leave it below!

Paperchase/ Waterstones: How did I not know these shops were in Dublin?! Paperchase is quite literally my dream shop. I could go in there in blow my pay checks in one place! I picked up this Blogger's Journal (€24) as I need a diary for college, and when I saw the adorable print of this one I couldn't not buy it. It has a few different sections in it; Monthly Blog Goals, a to-do section, a calendar, and even places to log your blog and social media stats.

I also bought two books; The Luxe Life by Fleur De Force, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (both reduced to €13). Fleur's book is just so aesthetically pleasing, the perfect backdrop to photos of makeup, as well as looking beautiful on your bookshelf or coffee table. And as for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, well you couldn't expect me to not buy it, being the Harry Potter fangirl that I am.

Kildare Village: I popped into Kildare Village yesterday with my dad, and I was feeling a little bit #spendy. I first went into Kate Spade, spurred on by the fact that there was an extra 10%-20% off everything, and I decided that I should wait a while and save up for a proper bag, but in the meantime I spotted this cute iPad Mini case for €40 and decided that it was going straight in my basket. (extra brownie points for you if you got that reference!).

I then stopped by Lulu Guinness and saw that their little leather card holders and coin purses were considerably reduced. I got this gorgeous blue coin purse and cream and gold card holder which I am obsessed with, all for €40.

Boots: Finally, I just had to stop by the new NYX stand in the Jervis Street Boots. I have been wanting to try the Soft Matte Lip Creams (€7.20) for ages, so I picked up one in the shade Abu Dhabi, a browny nude which feels gorgeous on the lips. I also picked up the Butter Gloss (€7) in Madeleine, another browny lip product, because can you ever have enough?

So as you can see I may have gone a bit crazy, but it won't be happening every month so it's ok every now and then to have a little bit of a splurge. Right?

P.S: Please excuse the awful background, I just ordered some marble contact paper on Amazon so I can finally have a decent background!
