I Heart Summer TAG!

Hey Guys!

Today I am going to be doing the I <3 Summer TAG for you all! I saw this in Ingrid's video and I thought it would be fun to share my summer must-haves with you. On to the questions!

Favourite Bronzer For Summer:

I love Seventeen's Instant Glow Bronzing Powder in Medium for contouring beneath my cheek bones and on my temples to give me a healthy (not orange!) summer glow. It has a very subtle shimmer to it that brightens up your face. Just a really great, general bronzer available from Boots.

You're relaxing in a hammock, on a tropical island. What are you sipping on? (Favourite Summer Drink):

I would really love to say something tropical here like Coconut Water, but try as I might, I just hate the taste of coconut water! It is an acquired taste and one I certainly do not have. I drink lots of water throughout the day, especially on holidays, but when I go out to dinner abroad with my family, I do like to treat myself to Fanta Lemon. It's so refreshing!

Favourite Summer Lip Product:

I'm cheating a little bit here, as I have two. One is a standard Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla and Macademia to keep my lips soft and hydrated. I wish these had a taste but then I suppose the product wouldn't be on my lips for too long because if it tasted as good as it smells, I might just have to eat it!
My other favourite summer lip product is my Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick, a fuchsia lip crayon that acts as a stain, lipstick and balm. This form of lip product is growing very popular with Bourjois introducing their take on the trend. I don;t like the minty smell of the balm stain but I love the subtle colour it gives my lips, perfect for everyday use!

Pool or Beach:

Hmmmm... this is a tricky one. I love lying on a sun lounger with a bag of magazines and books and an ice- cold bottle of water beside the pool, but I also love the sound of the sea, and the atmosphere at the beach. Sometimes I do prefer the pool though as it's easier to get some shade and also, you don't end up exfoliating yourself with a sandy suncream mixture when trying to reapply your suncream! How does the sand get everywhere??

Summer= crazy hair! What's your must- have styling product?:

I have to admit, I don't use any product on my hair during the summer, apart from occasionally taming any frizz with my Redken Glass Look Shine Serum, but apart from that, it's eau natural!

Sun bathing or fake tan?:

I know it's so bad for your skin, but I love soaking up the sun by the pool and getting a nice tan. I am always extremely careful and wear SPF 50 most of the time, especially on my face. I look and feel better with a glow!

Favourite Summer Nail Polish:

I like to keep my nails natural on holidays as I like the look of tanned skin with no nail varnish for some reason! My nails go a nice pinky nude in the sun and I think it looks really pretty. When I get paler though, I like a nice coral, like Essie's Cute As A Button to accentuate my tan.

Any Summer Traditions?:

Yep! Every weekend I go down to my mobile home in Wexford that is less than 2 minutes away from the beach, and with this summer we've had, it's been gorgeous! I have been going to Wexford every weekend of the summer since I was born, and my mom and her brother and sister have been going since they were kids, so it is a very old summer tradition!

Favourite Summer Scent:

This might sound weird, but I just love the smell of suncream, and because the weather has been so hot lately, I have been wearing plenty of it! It smells like holidays to me so brings back lots of lovely memories.

Favourite BBQ Food:

My sister and I don't eat red meat, so instead of burgers, we make chicken skewers with chilli powder, paprika, cayenne powder and herbs then put chicken, mushrooms, red pepper and onion on a skewer and then barbecue them! And then if I'm feeling very naughty, I make a s'more with a marshmallow barbecued until melted, on top of a chocolate digestive- Yum yum!

What's your favourite summer-proof product?

My favourite summer-proof product is my waterproof mascara from Natural Collection, I bought this for going on holidays as a cheap mascara and if it didn't work, it wouldn't be the end of the world. I recently wore it to the beach with my friends and it stayed put all day, even after going swimming and everything! I was pleasantly surprised by this product and I will be wearing it on any trips when I go to Greece on Saturday :)

Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip!:

I am going to Greece on Saturday! Eeep, I'm so excited! I'm going to Zakynthos with my family just for a week and of course I will be taking my guys along with me :) I will be filming OOTD, OOTN and maybe some other videos, we'll have to wait and see!

Thanks for reading this you guys! I tag EVERYONE! Yep, even you! Specifically, I TAG:

Danielle @ The Imperfect Beauty Queen
Amber @ Bambi Beauty Spot

Thanks again everyone,

xoxo, Emma

London 2013

Hey Guys!

On Tuesday the 2nd July I got a phone call telling me I had won the KISS magazine competition which included an overnight stay in London and tickets to the sold out fan signing of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. Needless to say I freaked out, because I was due to fly to London on the 4th! In two days! I couldn't believe my luck because my sister and I had been trying to plan a trip to London this summer but we kind of let that idea go because we just couldn't find the right time to go.

I started planning my outfits and packing everything I would need. I didn't sleep a wink that night, or the next night! On the Wednesday we received all the details about the flights and the hotel and that really made the trip real for us!

The amazing hot chocolate in the airport <3

We woke up on Thursday and got ready to go to Terminal 2 in Dublin Airport where we printed our tickets off at the little machines. We had a browse around all the shops and bought some magazines and sweets to eat for take off and landing. I have to say I prefer the shopping in Terminal 1!

Our flight was delayed so instead of flying at 1.40pm, we flew at 2.20pm! The flight was quick and we landed in Heathrow at 3.30pm. We went and bought Day tickets for the tube which were £8. We hopped on the tube on the Piccadilly Line (we had to wait about 1 minute for the tube- so much faster than Dublin Bus!) The tube from Heathrow to Kings Cross Station took an hour so we got to the station at around quarter to five so we ran to our hotel because we had to check in, get back to the station and get the tube to Piccadilly Circus and then get to the signing event- by 6!! We looked for our hotel and went to check in. Turns out, we had gone to the wrong hotel. -_-

Who has two of the same hotel within 10 minutes of each other?! We practically ran to the hotel and checked in, well tried to at least because there was a bit of a mix up and the hotel room actually hadn't been paid for. Whoops! The people in the hotel were kind enough to let us put our suitcases in a room and we ran, and I mean ran, to the station to hop on the tube to Piccadilly Circus for the event. It was 5.50pm by then and the tube journey took 20 mins. We were freaking out!

We hadn't had time to change or refresh our makeup, and we also hadn't eaten since 8am that morning, so we were tired and stressed out by the time we reached St. James' Cathedral for the book signing. The church was beautiful and was full of sculpture and colourful stained glass, which really fit in with the book, I felt. The place was absolutely packed with girls wearing the runes featured in the book on their arms, drawn on with eyeliner. Some even had Shadow Hunter t-shirts on. We ended up sitting high up in the balcony as that was the only space left. We were able to look down on the author and Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Jace in the movie version.

It was hard to hear what the author was saying most of the time but I got the general gist of it. Jamie Campbell Bower was a big hit with all the girls, especially when he took out his guitar and played two of his own songs for everyone. I had no idea that he could sing, and he was actually really good.

Unfortunately I didn't get my book signed as it was taking way, way, way too long so my sister and I bought the books and went and got a Costa Coffee, our first 'meal' since breakfast that morning. We got mango and passion fruit ice coolers and went to get the Night Time Tour of London. We were the only people on the bus and we sat upstairs in the open air. It was so much fun and we got to see all of the tourist-y things in London, like Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Westminster Abbey. We saw Hyde Park and Prince William's favourite food hall (haha ;)) as well as The Ritz, which I am determined to stay at one day!

The tour ended at 10.30pm and we wanted to have a look around Piccadilly but my sister was afraid that the tube would stop running (it was our first time in London!) so we got the tube back to Kings Cross and we got there at 11.10pm so we ran into the Marks & Spencers and bought some cut up mango slices and grapes just in case we couldn't find a restaurant. We headed to the hotel hoping that we would have somewhere to stay and thankfully, although the payment hadn't been sorted out, we were allowed into our room. The bed was massive! We dumped our bags in the room and went to see if there was a restaurant open. The one in the hotel was closed and we were told that most of them closed at around 10pm except for McDonalds. We really didn't want McDonalds so we found a Nandos that was still open. We went in and ordered a take away meal which we brought back to our hotel room. We got into our PJ's and laid out our feast on the bed. We both got a half chicken with medium spice, and I got garlic bread and corn and Becky got chips and corn. It was AMAZING!

In the middle of the night we woke up to a blaring fire alarm which we thought was only in our room but it was actually in the whole hotel. We went out the the landing of our floor and we could see down into the lobby. There were fire men and fire engines and everyone on the lower floor had been evacuated! Thankfully everything was ok and the firemen left so Becky and I waited a while then went back to bed and fell fast asleep.

That was Day one of my trip to London. I'm sorry about the length of the post but I just had to let you all know how my trip was! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it.

June Favourites!

Hey Guys!

I have not done a favourites post in ages so I thought I would fill you all in on what I have been loving in June.

I have been loving Bourjois' Bronzing BB Cream which I recently did a review on. I wear this under my eyes on days I wear makeup (which is around once or twice a week) and it covers up my dark circles and brightens my face up. Love!

I have also been using MAC's Magenta Blush, a powder blush I got in the airport last year. I have to admit that I haven't used this blush as I much as I should, as I found it hard to apply it without looking like a clown because it is so crazily pigmented! I have recently discovered the right technique to apply it (using a very light hand!) and I have fallen in love with this blush. It brightens up my whole face and is not as scary as it appears in the pan.

For my eyes I have been loving Maybelline's The Rocket mascara (as have about 90% of the blogging- Youtube community!) and I have not worn any mascara but this one since i got it in May. It volumizes, lengthens and is just an all-round brilliant product. I really reccommend it!

Eyeliner and I don't really get along. Every eyeliner I have tried leaves my eyes red and watery- not cute. When I got the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Zero with the Theodora palette (also reviewed on my blog), I thought it would be the exact same. But oh, was I wrong, this stay in place on my tight line, doesn't gather in my inner corner- also not cute- and doesn't leave my eyes looking like I'd been crying for days! A winner in my books!!

Finally for beauty I have been using MAC's paintpot in Bare Study, a cult favourite among beauty obsessed girls everywhere. It is the perfect champagne cream eyeshadow that you can swipe on the lid and go. I will definitely be looking at getting another shade when I go to Greece later this month!

Ear cuffs have been doing their round lately as a pain- free alternative to getting your rim pierced. They come in tons of different styles from simple to crazy! I picked up this little one in River Island for €4 so they certainly don't all break the bank. I wear this when I go out and I feel it adds a certain something to any outfit. I also have a cuff with a feather on it that I will definitely be reaching for over the summer months.

I have begun to re- read the Blue Bloods series (by Melissa de la Cruz)
this summer and I am thoroughly enjoying them. I read them around 4 years ago so I wasn't really old enough to appreciate them, but I think they are great the second time round. There are 5 (I think!) books in the series and I am currently reading the second one, Masquerade. They are about vampires living in Manhattan and they are all extremely rich, I love reading about the fabulous clothes and shoes they wear.

Of course there had to be a food category! I discovered almond butter a few months ago and I have fallen in love. It is absolutely delicious spread on rice cakes. Yum yum! I am allergic to peanuts and I used to eat peanut butter every single day when I was a kid (before I was allergic obviously!) so I really miss it. But almond butter makes up for it! It is rather expensive at €4.50 for a 170g jar in most health food shops but I make it last!

That's all from me guys! I hope you enjoyed my favourites and have a great July. By the way, have any of you seen Despicable Me 2? It's hilarious and absolutely adorable!!

xoxo, Emma
