Christmas Countdown #2: My Top Purple Beauty Picks

Hey Guys!

Welcome to the second post in my new series Christmas Countdown! Check out the first post, my Christmas Wishlist, here. Today I thought I would show you my favorite beauty picks with one thing in  common, they are all purple or berry- colored. Purple is a huge trend in terms of makeup this season, so I am going to show you my favorite berry- colored lipstick, blush, eyeshadow and nail polish.

MAC Powder Blush- Magenta

I have talked about this blush on here before, but I think it is such a versatile blush that suits all skin tones in all seasons. The berry hue adds a lovely pop of color to the cheeks that gives your face a rosy, flushed glow. Perfect for Winter! Be careful though, this blush is super pigmented, so if you use a heavy hand, you may come out looking like a clown! Less is definitely more with this blush.

MAC Eyeshadow- Fig

I got this as a gift last Christmas, and in my opinion, this is a gorgeous color for Winter time. I showed it in a Get Ready With Me video last Christmas, and I love pairing it with a gold shadow (usually Half Baked from the NAKED palette). I don't know why, but I think of purple as a Christmassy color, so I love wearing Fig around this time of year.

Revlon Lipstick- Va Va Violet

I got this lipstick a while ago and although I haven't had anywhere to wear it yet (blame it on the unsocial life of a 6th year!), I have tried it on a few times, and I love how moisturizing and long- lasting the color is. It comes out a tiny bit uneven, so I like to put on a neutral lip pencil before applying the lipstick to ensure it goes on smoothly and evenly. This color is not for the faint hearted though, it is pretty dark, so I would keep this for special occasions.

Nails Inc. Nail Polish- Plum

I actually got this free with a bottle of Cherry Coca-Cola a few years ago (side note: Cherry Coke is gross, I wouldn't recommend) and I have used it every winter since. I like to wear darker nail colors in winter, but I am not brave enough to go very dark, so for me, this plum color is perfect! It doesn't chip very easily, and with two coats is a gorgeous, glossy berry color.

So that's it guys! I hope you enjoyed the second post in my Christmas Countdown series. Let me know in the comments if there is any posts you'd particularly like to see this December.

See you next Sunday!

xoxo, Emma
