Happy New Year

Hey Guys!

As well as the post from earlier on today, I wanted to post a little thank you to all of you who have watched my videos, liked them, subscribed to my channel, read and followed my blog, or followed me on my social media accounts. It has been a great year for me; I attended my first ever blogger event, met some lovely fellow bloggers who I am now glad to call my friends and I even came up with (and stuck to, at first) my own uploading schedule.

So, I would like to wish each and every one of you a prosperous Happy New Year, full of good health and happiness. I do hope you will continue to stop by my blog and Youtube channel every now and then to say hi, I am certainly aiming to be more disciplined in my uploading routine.

My Picks Of The Beauty January Sales

Hey Guys!

I have been shopping recently (natch), and I thought I'd share some of the beauty bits I picked up in the sales with you.

Boots gets a special mention as all of their gift sets are currently half price, including a whole heap of Soap & Glory goodness, so I picked up the Crazy, Sexy Kohl gift set for the grand 'ol price of €9. It includes an adorable silver make up bag with four full-size waterproof kohl eyeliners. They have a gel-like consistency that I generally associate with a long lasting eyeliner. The colors that come in the pouch are a black, a brown, a metallic blue and an emerald green.

I also picked up a tub of The Righteous Butter for €3.50, an amazing bargain! I use this stuff by the bucketload around Christmas time because I usually get a Soap & Glory gift set containing the fab body butter, as I did this year, but it is usually around €15 which I can't really justify spending on body lotion so I thought I'd stock up while it's cheap!

Finally I picked up by favorite bargain of the sales, the YSL Babydoll Mascara gift set from Debenhams. It was reduced to €21.66 which I think is incredible for YSL. I have ben testing it out the past few days and is certainly up there on my top 3 mascara list (yes, that list exists). I haven't tried the eye makeup remover yet but I'm excited to give it a whirl!

Have you picked up any gems in the sales?

Merry Christmas!

Hey guys!

I know I'm a bit late, but I'm just chilling out here, full up from my third consecutive Christmas dinner and I felt like trying out blog post writing on my new iPad mini. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas/ holiday season if you don't celebrate Christmas, where you were all treated and you treated the ones you love too. I had such a relaxing day, with chocolate for breakfast and a fabulous meal where I loaded up on roast potatoes and Brussel sprouts *heart eye'd emojis* before flaking out on the couch with my family, watching terrible movies.

A "What I Got For Christmas" video will be going up sometime next week, as will my Best of 2014 video. If you have any more video/ blog post requests leave them down below or on my YouTube channel.

Much love,

Xoxo, Emma

A Flash Of Gold

Hey Guys!

First of all can I just say that Eyeko customer service is fabulous- I ordered a little something for my sister on the website, quite possibly influenced by the fact that you got a free rose gold eyeliner with any purchase, and when I got the package, I got another free eyeliner that I may be slipping into my sister's stocking. Two free products that add up to cost three times the amount of the product I actually ordered? Pretty damn good if you ask me.

So here is the little beauty that I've been sporting the past few days, a twist up pen that dispenses the product into the felt-tip fibres, ready for you to cat-eye flick to your heart's content. I have been doing my usual black flick on my upper lash line and contrasting it with the rose gold liner on my bottom lash line. It adds a certain something to an otherwise plain makeup look, and it makes up for my being too lazy to put on eyeshadow!

I wore this ice-skating yesterday (I totally floored myself and my knee is paying for it now) and it stayed put all night long.

P.S: It's nearly Christmas!

Christmas Gift Guide

Hey Guys!

I know I didn't do a Christmas Gift Guide here on the blog this year, but I thought I'd point you in the direction of a Gift Guide I did for the lovely Hannah a few weeks ago. If you haven't visited her blog, you may not have heard of her online magazine. She asked if anyone would like to contribute to the magazine and I gladly volunteered.

If you still haven't finished your Christmas shopping or just fancy a spot of window shopping, check out the gift guides I wrote here. It's your one stop shop for Gift Sets, and a DIY Gift Basket you could put together for a loved one. The magazine is also chock full of other Christmassy gifts and articles for you to read with a nice cup of hot chocolate ;)

Let me know what you think.

My New Berry Lip Love

Hey Guys!

Wow, feels weird to type that after such a long time away from blogging. I was in Boots a few months ago and spotted Maybelline's newest lip offering; a creamy lip pencil in a selection of incredible shades. Sometimes lip pencils can be in sickly pinks and a token red, but Maybelline brought out a great selection. The shade that caught my eye was Berry Much, a dark berry color that just screams autumn/ winter.

I thought that with it being creamy and 'velvety', it would smear all over my face even if I just rubbed my lips together, but I was very much mistaken. I wore this on half of my lips for Halloween (I was a half skeleton, half human type thing) and I worried that it would mix with the white shade on the 'skeleton' half of my face and I would look like an extra from a horror movie (although not always a bad thing with it being Halloween). But, it did not budge one little bit. I decided to try it out again on another night out- I'm a party animal, didn't you know? I was out until 2am and I had actually forgotten to bring the pencil with me, but when I got home, my makeup looked as fresh as it had done at 7.30pm the previous day. *Insert all the heart eye'd emojis here*

I have heard rumors of these pencils being a dupe for the coveted NARS lip pencils. As I haven't tried NARS' offerings, all I can tell you is that you need one of these pencils in for life. Race ya to Boots?

Update!

Hey Guys!

*Slaps wrist* I know I have been a very, very bad blogger/vlogger as of late. I have not only been busy with college (lame excuse, I know), I have also been experiencing a bit of 'bloggers block'. I literally have had no ideas for videos or blog posts. I don't know what has happened to me, but I felt like it was time to let you all know the reason for my hiatus. If any of you know any cures for 'bloggers block', I would really appreciate it.

I would like to start my Christmas videos soon but I don't really know what to film. I am hoping to get a  new camera for Christmas so I've also been feeling like my video quality is pretty inadequate and I don't want to film until I can make it better for you guys. I know I'll just have to get over that one, so I will try to film and upload a video for you all ASAP.

Thanks for understanding (hopefully!)

Macaroons & Thigh Highs

Hey Guys!

One trend that I have been loving this season is the over-the-knee boot, or OTK's as the pros call them. I was perusing the online racks of Boohoo when I stumbled across these OTK's*, and I fell in love. Of course they fell into my basket and with a click, they were mine.

I have been styling these with tights and skirts, leggings and jeans. I decided to go for a black skirt from Topshop and jumper combo when I went into Dublin to meet up with my sister in one of our fave eateries, Cornucopia. Leopard print has somehow finally made sense to me and I have been trying to incorporate it into more of my outfits. I injected it into this outfit in the form of this H! by Henry Holland sweater that I picked up three Christmasses ago.

My sister and I went into Brown Thomas to look at the Laudaree counter (well maybe we did more than just look) and to check out the fabulous Christmas displays. Sigh.

I hope you liked this OOTD, let me know if you like these kinds of posts, and if you want to see an OTK styling video, let me know! P.S: Check out my new video, live on my Youtube Channel now!

Zoella Beauty Haul

Hey Guys!

This package took soooo long to get to me. I ordered it the very day the Zoella Beauty range came out, and I only got it yesterday! I'm delighted with the products, so here is a little run-down of what I ordered.

Blissful Mistful Fragranced Body Mist: I was a bit wary of getting this because I am quite fussy about scents so buying them online without having previously smelled them is a bit hit and miss for me. I actually really like it though, to me it smells like my sister, and as soon as she smelled it she thought it smelled exactly like her Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Perfume. Being a quarter of the price of Chanel, I think it was a very good buy! It is a very feminine, fresh scent that is definitely on the more floral side of the perfume spectrum. I am usually into very sweet scents, so this is a nice change for me. Me thinks it will become my new signature scent.

Soak Opera Bath Soak & Shower Cream: This is actually a massive bottle! It smells pretty similar to the Body Mist, and I like when you can combine all the products to amplify a scent. I used this last night in the shower and it did a good job of lathering up (gotta have a good lather!) and it smelled heavenly!

Guinea Pig Beauty Bag: I chose this design over the 'eyes' design as I thought this was a) adorable, and b) so adorable. The thing that I love about this bag is that it passes the Naked palette test, something very few makeup bags can do. By this, I mean that the Naked palettes fit in perfectly so I only have to bring the makeup bag and not have to cart the palette around on the side too. It's a great size, and it is made of a wipe-clean material meaning it won't get dirty quite so easily.

These are the few bits I picked up from the Zoella Beauty range. Now I just have to wait for the Fizz Bar and Candle to come back in stock. Please Hurry Up!

Claire's Halloween Haul!

Hey Guys!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year even though I haven't actually celebrated it in a few years. After watching Pixiwoo's latest video, where Sam used face stickers etc. to create an amazing Halloween look, I just had to go to Claire's to check out their Halloween section. It did not disappoint! In fact, I'll just have to go out twice this year because I couldn't decide which look to go for. Here's what I picked up.

Flower Headband, €7.99: This is amazing. It's sort of festival chic meets corpse bride, and I love it. I'm going to be a skeleton for one night out this year, the one with my school friends. We are all going to be skeletons, but everyone's going to be a different color… Of course I'll instragram a pic to show you all how it goes! I thought this headband would be perfect with massive curls, skeleton face paint and a black dress. Eeek, I'm too excited for this costume!

Spiderweb Fake Lashes, €6.99: Pixiwoo showed these in the tutorial and I thought they were super cool, so I had to pick them up. Huge, glittery cobwebs that will glam up any look, I'm contemplating adding these to my skeleton look, just 'cos.

Bloody Face Stickers, €5.99: They have so many varieties of these face stickers; cats, cheetahs, jokers (they terrify me!), cobweb eye details, and the coolest witch eye sticker. I chose this because I love the glittery blood (in a totally non-creepy way of course) and I can just picture myself with a black smokey eye, a red dress, and maybe some fangs!

Glow-in-the-Dark Vampire Fangs, €1.99: These were such a bargain, and I will be using them in an upcoming video, so keep an eye out for those!

Temporary Body Art (blood and spider bite version), €2.99: It was my mom who wanted me to get these, she thinks they are the bomb.com. One of these wrapped around your neck will just look awesome, and if you are going with a friend who is a vampire, you can even pretend to be their victim with the little bite marks included.

If this hasn't got you in the Halloween mood, then I apologize… perhaps go and watch Hocus Pocus or The Haunted Mansion whilst eating a chocolate apple to get you into the spooky spirit!

Nails By Rebekah

Hey Guys!

I was recently contacted by Rebekah, who runs a Dublin-based, freelance nail business. She very kindly offered to do shellac nails for me, so of course I said yes! I had never had shellac done before so I was excited to say the least. On Sunday, my sister and I headed to her house in Cabinteely, where she runs her business from.

Rebekah is absolutely lovely, and she did a great job. She does the nails up in her bedroom, which she has turned into a cosy little studio. She showed me the selection of nail colors, I chose a minty color, and started off with a base coat, followed by three coats of polish, and finished off with a gel top coat. My nails were dried under a UV light following each step.

Rebekah had the X Factor playing in the background so we all had a lovely chat about the judges, contestants and the presenters of the Xtra Factor (we are all Team Flack!) while she was doing our nails. When she had finished, I had to keep reminding myself that my nails were totally dry, as I usually have to be very wary of my nails as I'm prone to smudging them!

The nail polish lasted for a good week and a half without chipping at all, and even now (closer to 2 weeks), the chips are barely noticeable. I have to return to Rebekah to get the nail polish removed, and I definitely think I will be availing of her loyalty scheme; your 6th time is free!

Check out Rebekah's instagram for info on how to make a booking here.

Update!

Hey Guys!

As you all know by now I'm sure, I have started college and to say it is intense would be an understatement! I have to say I wasn't quite expecting to have so much work to do! I am coping, but keeping track of it all is much harder than when I was in secondary school. No homework journal, or teachers constantly reminding you to do things. Having said that, my course is quite small, so the structure is slightly more 'secondary school-esque' than other courses would probably be.

I have been finding it hard to find time to film and write posts. Mostly because of my long hours of college eating into precious daylight hours, making it increasingly harder to take blog photos or film videos. I really need to invest in some lights for my videos! Instead of trying to put pressure on myself to upload twice a week, I think I will shorten that to uploading once a week, on a Tuesday. I will upload blogposts whenever possible! If I have more ideas for Halloween tutorials than I can film, I might do step-by-step blog tutorials instead.

Until next time,

xoxo, Emma

BEUTiFi/ Wet N Wild Brunch

Hey Guys!

On Saturday I went to my first ever brunch. It was to celebrate the launch of BEUTiFi.com, a new online hub where you can find beauty and hair services near your area with the click of a button. Their aim is to make sure that you can get your dose of hair and beauty no matter where you live in Ireland, for whatever occasion. The brunch was in association with Wet N Wild  and we got a look at their Pop Art Collection, which is in stores now.

The brunch was held in the Clarion Hotel, and we were presented with a delicious brunch of pastries, apple juice and orange juice, chocolate covered strawberries and the most delicious decorated marshmallows. We all tucked in whilst swatching the various Wet N Wild products laid out in the middle of the table. Their new trio palettes are amazing, but not for the faint hearted!

Lisa from Pink Sugar Hairstyling was on hand to show us how to do a 5 minute curly hairstyle, courtesy of some lovely looking ponytails, as well as the ever-popular fishtail braid. Makeup artist Sarah Jane Lanagan was also there to show us the main beauty trends that will feature in the coming season; the berry lip, winged liner, and a subtly contoured face.

We were all treated to a goodie bag, the contents of which I shall be reviewing once I've had the opportunity to test them all out, as well as a gift card for BEUTiFi.com, allowing us to pay for a service of our choice. I might save it up for a night out and get my makeup done!

With the lovely Cat.

I would thoroughly recommend checking out the website as the concept is so new and definitely something that the Irish will lap up happily!

CHANEL Beauty Haul

Hey Guys!

As you may know, my debs was on Tuesday, so I got my makeup done in Chanel. You can redeem the price of the makeup against one product, but being the makeup junkie that I am, I went for two products! I chose the new Vitalumiere Powder Foundation and the Lip Crayon in Orange Intense.

The makeup artist used the powder foundation as a setting powder on me, but I thought that it would be the perfect foundation on me as I don't need too much coverage, and it's basically a two in one, meaning that the time I spend getting ready is shortened! I'm in the shade 20, and I darken it up a bit with my Hoola bronzer. The little kabuki brush that comes with the powder is the cutest thing ever, and it does a great job of buffing in the product to create a flawless finish. If you want to see me using this foundation, check out my new video, where I show you my night out makeup.

The makeup artist used this lip crayon on me, and I fell in love with the creamy formula and vibrant color. She lined my lips with this and topped it off with the lipstick in Secret. I am lacking in the lip liner department so I thought I would get the lip pencil to pop into my clutch for the night. You get a little lip brush on one end of the pencil, and you also get a sharpener.

There is my little Chanel haul for you, I was a bit naughty to have splurged on these, but I got my hair done in Peter Marks for free so I thought I deserved it!
