The Skincare Edit

Hey Guys!

I'm taking a break from studying, so I thought I would share a very requested post with you all, my Skincare Routine. This has been requested a lot recently, and as I try not to disappoint (ha!) I thought I'd do a post about it!

Nivea Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes//

Uh oh. Yep I did just say that I use wipes. These are considered to be El Diablo in the beauty and skincare world, but I am just so tired at the end of the day that these wipes just sort of fall into my hand so I can take my makeup off with them. I haven't found any other product that can successfully take off all of my mascara, without it stinging my eyes and making my eye area feel greasy and oily. If any of you have suggestions, please leave them below, as I know these aren't very good for your skin.

Soap & Glory Peaches And Clean Deep Purifying Cleanser//

Hopefully I have redeemed myself from the wipes, as I do use this cleanser after every shower. I take a pump of this and massage it into dry skin before washing it off with cold water. I love this cleanser, it has Peach and Ginseng extract in it which doesn't dry out my skin, and makes my face feel crazily clean! I got this for Christmas, and I have been using it ever since. I love this cleanser, and I would really recommend that you try it out.

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser//

Wow, that's a mouthful! I have been using this moisturizer since the summer, and I find that it really hydrates my dry skin. I use this after the Soap & Glory cleanser, and also every morning before applying my makeup. There's nothing much to say about it, it does what it says on the tin, but I will definitely repurchase this when I eventually run out!

So that is it, my daily skincare routine. Probably not as interesting and mind-blowing as you had expected, but what can you do? I hope you enjoyed this post, and I will chat to you all soon (it might be a while, as I'm sure you all know I am in the middle of my Leaving Cert mocks!)

xoxo, Emma

The Purple Lip

Hey Guys!

I am back with another beauty review for you all. I shall be sharing my thoughts on the beautiful Va Va Violet lipstick by Revlon, a creamy dark plum shade that is perfect for adding a touch of glamour to your look.

Not going to lie, this shade is not for the faint-hearted! It took me a while to muster up enough courage to wear this in public, but I am so glad I did! It truly is a gorgeous lipstick.

Formula// This shade is one of Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipsticks, and is one of the most creamy, moisturizing lipsticks I have ever tried. The color is true to the color in the bullet, but does not go on very evenly. Despite being pigmented, you definitely need to apply a lipliner under this to help it go on in a smooth, even layer. I didn't have a lipliner that perfectly matches the color, so I had to make do with a burgundy shade. I applied the liner, then a layer of lipstick, before blotting with a tissue and reapplying the lipstick.

Staying Power// The lipstick actually stayed for about 2 hours before I had to reapply, which I found quite impressive as I wore it to a party where I literally danced for about 5 hours straight, no stopping! I only brought the bullet with me to the party, and I found it quite easy to reapply, no wonky lines or anything!

Overall I think this is a beautiful lipstick, but do be aware of the fact that you will need a lipliner with it! The lipstick is available from Boots and most pharmacies.

Thank you all so much for reading this, I hope you enjoyed it. I will talk to you all soon, I'm off to go practice my German, I have my mock oral tomorrow! Good luck to any of you doing your mocks as well, I know you will all do fantastic!

The Mascara Diaries// My Daily Faves

Hey Guys!

It's the weekend, woohoo! I literally live for the weekends, after studying/ homework-ing (it's a technical term, ok?) from 4.30pm until 9.30pm every day, and from 2.30pm until 9.00pm on a Wednesday, it's fair to say that I am wrecked by the time Friday comes! My mocks are the week after next (eeeep!) so I am working very hard towards those, and I filled out my CAO Choices (choices for college for any non- Irish readers) today, which was terrifying! Anyway, enough with the boring school talk, on to today's post! I will be showing you my top mascaras and they go from drugstore to slightly more expensive. I have tried and tested these mascaras over the past few months, and one has even been a repurchase. So, on to my mascara heroes!

1// MAC False Lash Extreme Black

I adore this mascara. It has been my most-used mascara for about a year now, and is a repurchase for me. First of all, the packaging is beautiful, it looks so sleek and expensive with it's intricately designed lid. The wand is tapered at the end, which makes it great for getting lashes in the corner, and the bottom lashes. The formula is not too wet so dries quite quickly. However, it makes the lashes feel soft and fluttery, not dry and flaky. It makes my lashes long and voluminous, and the curl lasts all day, with no flaking. I will definitely be repurchasing this again. RRP: €23.50. Available in Brown Thomas and BT2 stores, or online here.

2// Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express

This is another brilliant mascara from Maybelline. If you are just starting out with makeup, and are looking for great quality, affordable mascara, I would suggest checking out a Maybelline counter for some great formulas. The Rocket was raved about when it first came out, so when it finally came over to Ireland, I quickly tracked one down. I am so glad I did! I use this every day, on top of whatever mascara I am wearing that day. It really boosts the lashes, and the rubber wand with the short bristles really gets into the lashes to provide length and volume. The bright purple packaging is also handy and instantly recognizable when you are in a rush! RRP: €11.99. Available in Boots, and on most pharmacies, or online here.

3// Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Super Volume

This is a new addition to my rapidly growing mascara collection, and it has becoming a firm favorite. The large brush grabs every lash and makes them appear thick and long. The formula is quite dry, but like the MAC formula, makes the lashes feel fluttery. This mascara holds a curl all day, and I have gotten quite a few compliments about my eyelashes while wearing this! RRP: €13.00. Available in Boots, and online here.

I hope you found this run-down of my favorite mascaras useful. If you are just starting out in makeup, or a fully-fledged makeup obsessive *raises hand*, then maybe you can use this post to find some new mascaras!

Chat to you soon,

xoxo, Emma

Best of 2013: Blogs, YouTubers & Apps

Hey Guys!

Another day, another post! I hope you are enjoying this series and find it marginally helpful. I thought that blogging about my favourites of 2013 would be better than making a video, as I did last year, because it gives you a quick glimpse of them without having to listen to me waffle on about them! This post is about the Internet side of things: Blogs, YouTube Channels & Apps.

Blogs

HelloOctober// I only discovered Suzie’s blog in December, and I am so glad my sister showed me some of her posts. Her photography is perfection, and her style of writing is so relaxed and easy-to-read while still being jam-packed with information. I also love the design of her blog, and her Youtube channel is full of beautifully filmed videos that I could just drool over.

The Londoner// I have been reading Rosie’s blog for about a year now, and it is one of the good ones! I check it every day to see posts teeming with gorgeous photos of her trips to Paris, Greece and of course, London. Rosie’s blog is part of the reason that I am in love with London… It would be amazing to go to all of the amazing restaurants that she reviews, the burgers and luxurious desserts look incredible! Also, her dog, Custard is just the cutest!

YouTubers

Zoella// Zoella’s blog and Youtube channel have been firm favourites of mine for a few years, I love her quirky personality, great style and of course her hair is amazing (Jealous? Me? Maybe…). Her autumn look book was beautifully shot, and I love her hauls… mainly because most of them are from Primark and it’s great to see someone who loves a bit of high street like me! How cute is her relationship with Alfie too?

HelloOctober// I think you can tell that Suzie’s blog and Youtube made a big impression on me this year! Her Get Ready With Me videos show off the products so professionally and I love her Outfits of the Day. Getting little glimpses of London in some of them doesn’t hurt either! I also love the little anchor tattoo on the inside of her foot <3

Apps

Instagram// Without doubt, this app had grown massively in popularity this past year. I am no exception to it’s addictive ways… why is it that we get so much enjoyment out of looking at pictures of food and clothes? I don’t know… but I do know one thing- it’s pretty darn fun! My favourites to follow are @rosielondoner and @leannewoodfull. P.S: Follow me @emmafitz96 ;)

Bloglovin’// Bloglovin is a site that you can sign up to if you have a bog, and even if you don’t have a blog. It makes it tons easier to read your fave blogs, and for others to read your blog. You can get a free app, and drool over your favourite blogs on- the- go now! No more having 20 tabs open in the Internet to look for all of your blogs… yay!

That was a pretty word- heavy post, which I hope you enjoyed. I am sorry if all of your time magically disappears while you trawl through the blogs and YouTube channels I mentioned!

‘Til tomorrow,

xoxo, Emma

*I do not own the pictures of HelloOctober or TheLondoner, they can be found on their blogs.

A Trip To Town: OOTD

Hey Guys!

I went to IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art) the other day with my sister and my dad, and I quite liked my outfit so I thought I would show it to you. It features my new coat which I ordered from Zara online (the first thing I had ever ordered online.. Excited was an understatement!) and I am in love! It is so warm and it is also waterproof, an essential quality needed for this stormy weather we seem to be having now.

Coat// Zara
Shirt (worn under jumper)// Penneys
Jumper// Topshop
Jeans// Hollister
Boots// River Island

Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your day,
