Tanya Burr Neutral Ambience Collection

Hey guys!

I hope you're all well, I'm back today with a review of Tanya Burr's newest collection; the Neutral Ambience Collection (available on I haven't tried Tanya's makeup since her very first release with EyeCandy, and I loved her lip glosses, so I thought I would try this collection as the shades seemed right up my street.

The collection consists of two palettes (€7.20 each) and seven lipsticks (€8.39). I picked up both palettes; the 'my paradise' and 'my escape' palettes, and the lipstick in the shade 'bear hug', a lovely browny nude.

The 'my paradise' palette has 3 shimmer shades and 1 matte shade, all of which have a warm, coppery undertone. The shadows are embossed with a pineapple that disappears after a few uses, but is cute nonetheless. The matte brown shade 'hammock' is super creamy and blendable, as is 'miami sunrise' and they are definitely the best shades in the palette. The other two are fairly sheer, but still pretty when used as a wash of colour.

L-R: champagne cocktail, tranquility, miami sunrise, hammock

The 'my escape' palette has 2 shimmer shades and 2 matte shades, which are all varying shades of khaki green. The matte shades ('tree tops' and 'master plan')  are again really creamy and are the standout shades in the palette. I think this palette would really suit someone with brown eyes as it would make them pop, but I will still get use out of the palette anyway as the matte shades are so lovely.

L-R: new perspective, wild jungle, tree tops, master plan

The lipstick is so moisturising and stays put for about 3 hours after application, which is pretty impressive for such a creamy lipstick. I will definitely be keeping this in my handbag as an everyday shade!

So there you have it, my thoughts on the Tanya Burr Neutral Ambience Collection. What do you think? Will you be trying anything out?

MAC Burgundy Times Nine Palette

Hey Guys,

This is a palette that I have quickly incorporated into my everyday makeup routine (updated video coming soon!) and I love it. I generally use the two mauve-y matte shades (shade 2 and 7) on a day-to-day basis, and then when I'm in the mood for a bit more intensity, I'll add in the matte plum shade (shade 5) in the outer corner and tightly packed at the lash line, with lashings of mascara. Let's be honest though, when do I not use lashings of mascara?

The palette is not only gorgeous for daytime though, I have often used it for darker, smokier looks for dance performances and nights out too. The colours blend like a dream and are very buildable so you can really customise how natural or dark you want your eye look to be. I love using my Peach & Pearl blending brush (currently £4!) with the shades, as it helps to blend them so flawlessly.

Have you used the Burgundy Times Nine palette before? What do you think of it?

Peach & Pearl Brushes

Hey Guys,

Long time, no chat. I'm currently on my Easter holidays so I have two weeks to fill with blog post writing and YouTube video filming! Today I'll be talking to you about a vegan, cruelty-free brush brand that my sister and I found at BeautyCon London: Peach & Pearl.

The brand is still quite small, but the brushes are the softest brushes that I have come across; even softer than Real Techniques! The amazing thing about the brand is that they often have flash sales, and I actually picked up this 7 piece set during their 80% off birthday sale, reduced from £65 to £13, and that included shipping!

They currently have a 70% off sale and you don't need a code, so you can get this brush set for £20! The set contains 4 face brushes (powder, blush, contour and stippling) and 3 eye brushes (large blending, small blending and a flat brush, which would also be great for concealer). I already have the contour brush and large blending brush, which I bought in BeautyCon, but I use them everyday so I'm delighted to have backups. The brushes blend products like a dream and I haven't had an issue with shedding at all, something I'm very picky about with makeup brushes.

I would highly recommend trying out the Peach & Pearl brushes, they are fantastic quality, and such a bargain too.

xoxo, Emma

P.S: This is not a sponsored post, I just love the brushes and thought I should share them with you all!

Everyone Loves A Good Nude... Lipstick

Hey Guys,

Just like the world and their mother, I have been loving nude lipsticks recently.

Give me a good matte pinky or browny nude and I'm a happy gal.

From L-R, top to bottom: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi, Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Candy K, MAC Vamplify Gloss in Tuned In, MAC Liptensity Lipstick in Driftwood, MAC Lipstick in Yash.

So today, I thought I would share with you all my favourite nude lipsticks. There are a mix of liquid lipsticks and regular bullet lipsticks, with one exception, the MAC Vamplify, which is a really pigmented gloss that looks just like a lipstick on the lips, and isn't sticky in the slightest. All are really moisturising, particularly the MAC Liptensity lipstick in 'Driftwood', the newest nude in my collection.

What are your favourite nudes? I'm always looking to add to my collection!

25 Years of YSL Touche Èclat

Hey Guys!

I don't know if this is something really unusual for a 'beauty blogger' to say, but I have never tried the infamous YSL Touche Èclat before. I know, shock horror.
A week or two ago, I saw that it has been 25 years since the product had launched, and as such, they have limited edition packaging.
I have seen the polka-dot edition, the leopard-print edition etc. in previous years, but this year's is special. It's the most gorgeous star print. Now, if you know me in any way, shape, or form, you'll know that I have a bit of a thing for star print, so when I saw this, I knew it had to be mine.

The sales assistant told me that the shade 1 is the original shade and it should suit everyone, even though it has very noticeable pink undertones (I have quite yellowy undertones),  so I decided to go with what she recommended, and I bought shade 1.

Once I have tried it out properly, I'm sure I will feature it in a YouTube video, so make sure you're subscribed to my channel here to make sure you don't miss that.

You might have been able to tell that following my last post, I have been getting more serious about photography, so the pictures for this post were taken on a Nikon D80. I hope you enjoy the better quality images!

Have you tried the Touche Èclat yet? What do you think of it?

Getting Into Photography | Nikon D80

Hey Guys,

This is a pretty random post, but I have recently been getting back into photography. I have always had a love of photography, and the reason I buy fashion magazines and read food and fashion blogs is to look at the beautiful glossy images.

As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words.

My dad has also been a big fan of photography, and has been building his collection of lenses (he's a Nikon kinda guy) for years and years now. So he recently left his big camera, a Nikon D80, out on the kitchen table, and as I'm off college sick at the moment, I thought I'd take advantage.

I basically walked around my house taking photos using his 50mm lens, and his huge macro lens. I had a mini photoshoot with my dog, and then took some pictures of makeup that had just arrived in the post.

What do you think? Would you like to see more photography posts on my blog?

Luxury Shoe Unboxing | Gianvito Rossi Calabria Court

Hey there,

Long time no chat! I just finished a three week long placement- my second last one before I become a qualified teacher (crazy, I know), so I haven't had time to blog or vlog, or even eat properly if I'm honest! Well, I'm back with a double whammy this week with a blog post and a YouTube video (click the tab above to check that out!).

Over the Christmas, I decided to treat myself to my first pair of designer shoes, and I struck gold, as they were massively discounted. I managed to get myself a pair of Gianvito Rossi Calabria Courts, or Plexi Pumps as they're sometimes known, reduced from €590 to €175 in Brown Thomas. I also had vouchers, credit notes and Christmas money to put towards the shoes, so in the end I only had to pay another €25! Talk about a bargain.

Anyway, I got the Calabria Courts in nude suede, and they seem to be really comfortable, well as comfortable as a pair of pointed court shoes can be. The really lengthen the legs due to the plexiglass effect, which is always a good thing for us petite gals.

I might do a more in-depth review of the shoes at a later date if you'd like, so let me know in the comments below. If you are looking for links for these shoes, check out my YouTube channel as I included links in my unboxing video.

What do you think of the shoes, and the incredible price I bought them for?
